Solid Wood Interior Doors

Four of our collections, Flat Panel, Shaker, French, and Mirror & Pantry, are milled from solid lumber. Species vary by collection. Available options include fir, red oak, maple, cherry, Douglas fir, and African mahogany, making it easy to match your door to existing floor or trim color. T.M. Cobb’s solid wood doors are built to last, using techniques our family-owned business has refined for generations. With basic care, these doors keep their good looks for decades.

Molded, MDF, and Flush Interior Doors

Molded interior doors use a durable hardboard facing over an engineered core, pressed to a crisp 1/8-inch panel profile. They resist warping and cracking at a lower price point, making them an easy fit for a budget-conscious remodel or a large multi-unit order.

MDF interior doors are made from compressed wood fiber. The surface holds paint smoothly and evenly, so builders spend less time finishing a full run of doors, and homeowners get a clean, uniform look that lasts. Select designs come fire-rated, making MDF a practical choice throughout a home’s interior.

Flush doors work differently. Instead of a panel design, they’re a flat, sound-dampening slab available in wood veneer, laminate, or a paintable MDF finish. They’re built for rooms where noise control matters as much as looks, like home offices, media rooms, or a bedroom next to a busy hallway.

Prehung and Custom-Built Interior Door Options

T.M. Cobb supplies prehung interior doors, already set in the frame and ready to install. Download the Prehung Work Order to place an order. Or check with your dealer on availability for a specific style.

Have a design the catalog doesn’t cover? T.M. Cobb’s MDF doors can be custom-made to your specifications. Unusual sizes, shapes, and panel layouts stay on the table, even after you’ve settled on a starting style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Solid wood doors are milled from lumber and offer greater weight and acoustic feel. Molded doors use a formed skin over a core and deliver raised-panel styling at a lower cost.
