An acoustical door is only as effective as its seal. Because sound waves travel through openings with very little resistance, even a tiny gap can compromise the entire assembly. To ensure maximum performance, Haley Bros. Acoustical Doors are rigorously tested with precision gasketing packages from National Guard Products (NGP).
Proper perimeter sealing is critical: a mere 1/8″ clearance can drop a door’s effective rating from STC 52 down to STC 21!
